What tires are you running?

It's time for me to switch from the BridgeStones Bt-014 to something that is as good but lasts more then 1800 miles. What are you running on your Fireblades?

Re: What tires are you running?

Since your choices were somewhat limited.
The Diablo Corsas is good on the track to a point. Unless you are going to ride your street bike on the track a lot, a waste on the street.

On the street on my XX Diablos.
On the track on the 1K Supercorsas.

Re: What tires are you running?

Just put a set of Pilot Powers on the 1krr last week. Have only been able to put about 100 miles on them and only 20 of that was on twisty roads in 50 degree weather so I haven't gotten a chance to fully test them yet. So far they seem good to go...

Before this I went thru multiple sets of Diablo corsas and loved them. COuldn't say anything bad about those tires performance wise. Of course the wish list would be to have the same great grip with longer tire life but you can't have it all. With the roads we have here the corsas got used for what they were meant for.

Re: What tires are you running?

thanks for all the replies, I am not using this bike on the track, most of the time I will be going down some twisty country roads or going to the local coffee shop. The Bt014 seemed to have good grip but wear out too fast. I only got 1800 miles out of the last two rears. I don't do burnouts or wheelie the bike intensionally. I am looking for a tire that will give me similar performance and a few more miles between tire changes....

Re: What tires are you running?

On my 1000RR I have run Diablo Corsas and a Diablo. The Diablo got no better mileage with less grip

On the RC so far a Diablo Corsa but I have a set of Qualifier's ready to go on before a track day.

Must obey the sheep dog

Re: What tires are you running?

For those that have tried BridgeStones Bt-014, grip wise how do they compare to other tires that you have tried?

even though I don't have a bike anymore I said PP cause thats what I had. Loved them and wouldn't hesistate to put them on whatever bike I do get next.

if you can't convince them, confuse them.

So far these tires have done very well. I was skeptical at first, but they have handled very well while riding this Winter. I've had no slipping or sliding. They grip much better than any of the Dunlops I've run. If they give me good mileage throughout the Summer I plan to get another set. The hot Georgia roads always seem to eat through rubber.

Re: What tires are you running?

Had pilot powers, and when it was time to replace them I got a killer deal on Dragon SuperCorsas. Freakin awesome tire. I hear they stopped making them, don't know if its true or not.
