Ohlins damper, will oversize fit?
I've been agonizing over dampers for a while now as my fiance gave me an Ohlins damper top-mount kit recently, as there are tons out there.
I know that Ohlins says the 2000 929RR needs a 63mm stroke damper, but recently I found a super cheap deal on one with an approx stroke of 125mm that needs a rebuild. I'd love to pick it up and put the rebuild on it, the overall cost would be less than half of a brand new one.
Will there be any issues with mounting it, as it is about 2.5" longer than the recommendation? Will the performance of the damper be affected by the extra length?
Thanks for your insight!
