954 clock continuously flashes...

Hey guys,
My 954's digital clock flashes constantly 1:00. Its not in program mode because the entire time flashes rather than just the hour or minute individually. Owner's manual is of no help - only tells me how to set the clock, not what to do if the time just keeps flashing.

Any ideas? Or am I just overlooking something really obvious?

Thanks!
-Jason

Re: 954 clock continuously flashes...

Yes, I've tried setting it by following the instructions in the manual, but no luck. My buddy also has a 954 and he showed me how to set the clock (which worked fine on his) Trying the same proceedure on mine yeilds no results.
Its been like this since I brought it out of storage this year. I had a trickle charger hooked up to it during the winter, no other problems and it was in heated storage that never dropped below 60 degrees F.
I don't spend a lot of time looking down at the clock, but it was always nice to have and I'd love to get it back!

That mean's it STOLEN! That's the silent 954 alarm! The cops are after you and the NSA is watching you! run. You can bring the bike to my house and I will keep it safe for you

Just kidding - Yeah those things are really hard to set.

Come on Honda, what's so wrong with a third (or even recessed) button?

No this tire hunted Mary down! This tire murdered Mary!

Re: 954 clock continuously flashes...

I know on my 929 that the buttons are a bitch to push just right to get it into "set" mode. If disconnecting the battery doesn't work see if your buddy can try setting it.

Re: 954 clock continuously flashes...

hey jason had the same prob. push the 2 buttons at the same until only the 1 is flashing , 1 of the buttons will increase the numbers and the other will go from minitues to hours, once you have the time you want just leave it alone for about 7 or 8 seconds and it will quit flashing an your time will be set , hope this helps you man.

Re: 954 clock continuously flashes...

Its fixed!
Unhooked the battery, hooked it back up, but no change. My problem was that I didn't have the coordination to push the left button .0005 seconds after the right button. On about the 10th try the left side started flashing and you know the rest of the story. Thanks for the input today guys, glad it wasn't somethingwrong with the bike - just me.

Re: 954 clock continuously flashes...

Cool, glad you got it to work. I find it works better if you press and hold the right button, then press the left.

Re: 954 clock continuously flashes...

I've more thing to ask about this......similar to this problem
but mine is after setting the clock to the right time blinking
few second and voila its OK but when I off the switch and on back
all of the things reset and again clock blinking and shows 1:00
and one more thing that I noticed my alarm light not blinking as I
completely off the switch.....is that means my alarm did not turn on?

Re: 954 clock continuously flashes...

Once you've set the time and it's flashing the correct time, leave it turned on until it stops flashing, then it's set.
Dunno about the alarm system, I don't have one.
