problems removing camshaft holders?

I'm having problems disengaging the three camshaft holders on my engine. I have turned the engine using a socket on the timing rotor bolt so that it aligns with timing mark. I have also unsrewed all 20 camshaft holder bolts slowly and in the correct order. But when i try to remove the holders they are stuck solid? any ideas, thanks

Re: problems removing camshaft holders?

I just recently had mine off and the dowels had them pretty snug. Probably not the best method, but I just eased them up with the tip of a screwdriver. Take very small bites one corner at a time. Or you could snug them back down, rotate the cames so that the lobes are depressing the valves, then loosen the holder bolts again a little at a time in the criss-cross patern and let the valve spring tension help you.

I do all my own stunts.

thanks that did the job as you said i just eased them up slowly with a screwdriver, and to think i was about to take a piece of wood and a hammer to try to force them off from the side probably would have done damage
