Dan Kyle forks?

I forgot to ask him today but what kind of springs does he use in the forks? I can't imagine they are Ohlins for the low price of $440 for everything.

I've read he uses either Ohlins or RaceTech. not sure on which he chooses first.

if you can't convince them, confuse them.

Re: Dan Kyle forks?

I just talked to Dan today and he lead me to believe that he doesn't use Race Tech products at all any longer as they are defective.

Re: Dan Kyle forks?

He just put Ohlins inside mine and revalved for a total of $650. Ohlins springs are not that expensive.

They must be a little more expensive than the normal spring he uses. Because he is charging me 440 for revalve and springs plus I need new fork seals and bushings for another 110 for a total of $550. Did you have anything else done besides his "normal work"?

Never mind just noticed that you have the 1K, there's the difference..

Re: Dan Kyle forks?

No but from what I understand the forks on my bike do need more work than a 929.

Re: Dan Kyle forks?

He used to use both Racetech and Ohlins, but he only uses Ohlins now. They are the same price. I recently had Ohlins installed to replace the Ractechs (needed a lighter spring) and he charged me $100 for the Ohlins forks, same price as the Racetechs I got from him 3 years ago. Sounds like his revalve service went up a whopping $10!
Smoothrideronli is correct, the 1000's forks need more work than the 929/954 to make them right. Seems like Dan can't revalve the stock stuff like he can on the 929/954, I guess in the 1000 he puts in Ohlins valves?

When I talked to him, he said that he actually still uses the stock valves, but just changes the shim pack to get it right and polishes everything up.

The thing that confused me was that he said he would go from a 10w to a 5w weight. I thought that you would need a thicker oil to compensate for the stiffer and linear rate spring???
