should i.. do i need to.. service my bike ??

hi all,

i bought a mint 954 that had done 2500k's. ive done an additional 2000k's and am assuming its never been serviced. the bike is a couple of years old and i havent ridden it in 8 weeks. (broken ankle from basketball) have started it up a couple of times. do i need to get it serviced. bike store said only after about 5000 or so but just wondering cause i havent ridden it for a while if that would cause problems or antyhing. any feedback appreciated...

thanks

Keep the battery on a trickle charger and put some fuel preservative in the tank if you're gonna be out for a while longer.

I don't know why the bike would need any service at 4500 kilometers. That's what, 3000 miles?
If it's bothering you, just change your oil and filter and ride the thing.

I'm with BDA116, just change the oil and filter and enjoy riding it...not that there's too much opportunity to have a good blast with the weather we've had recently !

I'll back up the oil and filter change. It's easy maintenance. I'm sure it needs it anyway. The oil could possibly have a bit of age to it.
