I was thinking of buying a 2nd bike for track purposes. I found a 929 here in Austin for $5200. The bike has 2k miles with a clear title and is 100% stock. My questions are: is this price decent (sounds right to me), is there any amount of mileage the bike should have before redlining it on the track and how would it do for a track bike. I have a 03 954 so one will be street and the other a track bike. Any feedback is appreciated, ride on.

If it has 2000 miles on it you're good to go on the track. In fact there are guys I have known to take a Brand New bike and put it right on the track with no problems.

You should be ok, I usually wait at least 500 miles if not 1000 miles beforehand. As far as price, $5200 sounds like a decent deal.

$5200 is all right, if you look you can do better, especially for a trackbike.

G-force Junkie just sold his for much less. I'll be selling mine for less too...if I ever get the damn thing back together.

I just watched a 1996 CBR900RR with Keihin Flats, Vortex rearsets, Stretched Swing-arm, Ported head, and a ton of Chrome go for $6500.00 . That thing was in terrible shape. I had to replace 2nd gear in it as well as several other things that had been neglected. I knew the guy that sold the bike and tried to tell the current owner not to buy it. Oh well, it was money in my pocket.
