Re: New key?!

Your local locksmith can order a box of keyblanks. 50 blanks cost about $6 so it's not a big deal.

Otherwise, yes you will likely end up getting overcharged at the Stealership.

Save yourself the hassle and let the dealer do it. Get to know your parts guys...they don't charge me for stuff like that.

Most dealers will charge a nice premium though............... thats the problem. In your case not. You can get generic blanks cut fairly cheap through local locksmiths, granted if there not being lazy pricks. There also not as pretty. An OEM key has a nice rubber/plastic surround with the Honda name and wing logo on it. A generic blank won't. But hey it starts the bike at a cheaper price, right?

Re: New key?!

A good locksmith should be able to. My local dealer didn't (probably still doesn't) have a functioning key maker. (don't even get me started). I bought a couple of blanks from them and took them to my local hardware store. One they cut ok, the other one no. The blanks are longer than what most hardware stores will have. I ended up going to a different dealer who cut me a key from the key code.
So, if you don't want to go to the dealer, find a good locksmith. I don't recommend other key making places like hardware stores for these keys.
