This may sound stupid, but.... here we go.
I recently have purchased a '96 900RR frame with every thing mounted except for engine. In response to this, I bought (what I thought was a) 900RR engine from 97. however, upon receiving the engine, I realized that the person who sold the engine to me may have either gotten the engine cc's mixed up or knows nothing of honda motorcycles. either way, I received a 919 cc engine from the 919 sport bike cruiser, I guess.
anyway, my question entails two parts as follows:
First of all, is there anyway to find out the year model of the engine so I can obtain side covers for it? I do not believe that there was such a thing before 2002 as a 919, but I am unsure officially.
Secondly, is it possible to mount this cc engine onto the frame of the 900 I purchased. I was told by my father to just look at the mounting holes and measure them, but... I just want to get a second opinion as to how easy, if possible at all, it would be to mount the damn thing.
note: I am planning on riding this bike on the street and would prefer it be legal, however, once my comfort level with this bike has reached an optimal level, I wish to stunt it out. soo.... again, I want at least some thing that I can ride for a while before going crazy with it and due to the stress levels of any motorized vehicle, I wish to not just rig some thing up to work for now.
I would appreciate a response with any knowledge possible.
