new clutch and HD springs

just installed the new OEM clutch plates and Barnett heavy duty clutch springs I got from SilverBullet. my friend who helped me said the case cover had been off before (there were 2 colors of sealant on the edges so I agree). no idea why anyone would have went in there before unless to change the clutch. Bike has 19k miles now (16k when I bought it).

All I can say is what a nice difference. The lever has a harder pull but thats no big deal, I'll take the extra clamping force. The bike feels tighter overall now. Overall I'm very happy.

if you can't convince them, confuse them.

I use the Barnett Springs and have never had a problem. Those things grab.

There was a clutch basket recall on the bike. That is probably why the cover had been off before. Yours probably has the stronger revised clutch basket.

Re: new clutch and HD springs

The tightness will loosen a little after a few rides, but still heavier than stock till you change them out again.

Glad all went well with the install, told ya it was easy!
