Re: Maintenance Information Volume 1

I've recently noticed a section on the Honda Japan HRC website with information on 'maintenance' for the 954 & 600. Not sure if there's an English version, can't find it after a quick scan of HRC (English).

http://www.honda.co.jp/HRC/community..._men01_01.html

The 954 tip relates to possible cracks in the oil cooler hose connector sections on bikes that have had hard use on the track. The 600 one relates to something about fuel getting stuck in the overflow tube.

They don't look like recall issues, just tech tips. If anyone's seriously interested I can make full translations, given some time.

You can get a rough translation from Alta Vista.

Re: Maintenance Information Volume 1

Just let me know what part of this you have trouble with!
''
- Concerning the CBR954RR oil cooler * crack notice

When sport travelling and the like is continued in the circuit, burden falls on the installation part of the hose due to the fact that 2 water hoses which come out of the oil cooler vibrate, the crack (cracking) becomes the cause of entering. It locks with tie-up and and the clamp et cetera for the harness it recommends that it tries not to move. Those and the like which are used over the long period of time especially please note.
To remove the soiling of 2 water hose installation parts which are attached to the oil cooler cleanly, please check with visual inspection and the spray et cetera for crack check. If the crack finds and drives, at once please exchange to the brand-new oil cooler.

Measure example - 1
The rubber mount is done the example which in the clamp which locks the hose which comes out of the oil cooler with tie-up.
In order for the exhaust pipe and the hose not to interfere, please note.

Measure example - 2
The example which minds the aluminum pipe on the middle of the hose. With this example it locks the middle of the hose in the aluminum pipe, but if, it can lock securely even with while it is the hose, it is sufficient.

- Concerning the CBR600RR fuel tank breather hose notice

2 pipes than underneath the fuel tank have come out, thicker one the ' overflow tube ', thinner one has become the ' air vent tube '. The air vent tube of this thinner one connects through the one-way valve, the catch tank (above the 250cc), but in this case when you install position of the catch tank in the high place and the like, when it remains overflows the gasoline in the tube accumulated, it means to close the hose. When that happens, while travelling atmospheric pressure stops catching inside the tank, there is a possibility gas defect condition appearing. Travelling with full tank after and, causing the tank on rear side, after maintenance after doing and the like, verifying that the gasoline is not accumulated in the overflow tube, please try to travel.
