Re: 900RR 98'-99' questions
He's wrong on resale value.. a 98-99 is currently selling for $4,500 - $5,200 in Arizona. As for a jet kit I may be able to get one for you for around $40 give or take $15. As far as an aftermarket pipe goes...eBay. The 98-99 Blade has the best suspension/geometry out of all the 93-99 Blades. The 16" front wheel can be directly replaced with a CBR600F3 front wheel or you can buy a CBR F4/i front wheel and have the brake hub surfaces machines to reduce the overall width of the wheel so it fits the Blade. I've also heard some VFR wheels can be made to fit the Blade. As for front tires for the 16" wheel.. Dunlop is the only company i know of making the 130/70/16. It may not be available in their new line but deffinately a 208ZR is available. If your a tall person you'll probably find the 98-99 more comfortable to ride than the 929. The 900 weighs in at 410lbs dry weight so it will be heavier than the 929.
And about the FlatSlide carbs.... those are a big no no for the street because you'll have trying to ride on the street with flatslides that won't idle for crap or run below 4,000rpm for beans. Those carbs are made only for the racetrack where rpm ranges are above 4,000. If you want power gains on a 900 get an airbox modification kit... Lockhart Phillips may sell it. Do the jet kit also with a good full exhaust system. Synch the carbs once all that stuff is done and your good to go with more HP. Also Airtech may sell bodywork for the 900rr. You can also have the cylinder head ported and polished, but i would only let a Honda 900rr experienced porter do the job. As for camshafts the stock ones are awesome. The 93-99 900 frame and swingarm are stout and i have never heard of anyone having a problem with their frame or swingarm.
