which bike to choose

I currently have a 2000cbr 929 with full exhaust/power commanderIII/1 tooth up in back sprocket change. It is a really nice and fats bike, I am looking to upgrade next season and was curious what other opinions were. I woul dlike something with a little more power/top speed, was looking at RC 51, 954, or new CBR 1000 (im a honda guy)....any thoughts or suggestions? I just dont want to get a bike that has less power!!

Re: which bike to choose

Well recently I had asked the question about what the diffrence is in the RC 51 and the 1000 and the over all opinion I receive had me leaning toward the 1000 and I also own a 2000cbr 929 with kick ass exhaust but no power commander.......so I would have to vote 1000rr in my humble opinion....

Re: which bike to choose

I'm just glad all the stupid rumors will be laid to rest in 5 days.
Of course, then we'll just have to listen to the inane "V5 is coming next year for sure" BS that will start up in 6 days.

Get whatever you want. If you're looking for more power or top speed, drop the RC51 from your list. For that matter, might as well drop the 954, as it is only very little more. The 1000RR has a decent increase in power, get it if that's what will float your boat.

Re: which bike to choose

Just from what i have heard the RC51 doesn't make a great streetbike, and i have heard one owner say his had an overheating problem. I'm not sure if that is inherent to the design or if it was just his bike's problem. I'm such a gear head i would buy the RC51 just for the cool factor and the exhaust note. They sound sweet

My RC has given me the most fun I've ever had on a street-bike. Of course, I have some great open roads and miles of twists right outside my front door. If you're looking for something that will also cruise the highway or commute to work definitely look elsewhere.

No overheating problems on mine at all.
