had to happen.

Was riding down I-275 in St. Pete last week on my 954. Merged onto the highway, truck in front of me, 2 gmc vans in the next two lanes. I'm about to pull around the truck when the van on the far left lane blows a tire, hits the van in the middle, which hits the truck, which jackknifes across the road and hits me with the trailer. Nothing i could do to avoid it, was going around 70. flew across the lane into the median, which is the only reason I didn't get run over.

The bike is pretty messed up, I am going to take it to the local honda bikeshop and get the frame, forks, etc inspected to see if it is fixable. If the frame is fine, I will start getting the plastics. I tried to start the engine today, and it would just keep turning over, i'm wondering if either some wire is disconnected, or it has something to do with being fuel injected, and i'm missing some fluid...which i'm sure i am, judging from the front end lol.

I'll keep riding, lucky I didn't die, although i'm reconsidering florida as a state to drive moto's in...too much crazy **** happens here.

Lucky to be alive.
And those forks look bent to me.

Re: had to happen.

Yikes. Glad you're okay. I hate stories about uncontrollable circumstances.

I believe riding, like life, is 10% what happens and 90% how you react.

Re: had to happen.

Start looking at a replacement bike, from the looks they will total it.

Glad you are not totalled

It's amazing how stupid some people can be.

Re: had to happen.

Glad to hear it wasn't worse for you. Bikes can be replaced...people can't.

Sounds like turn one at MotoGP this year with stuff going every which way. REAL glad you are OK. It might not be cranking due to the bank angle sensor, if it is in the nose there is no telling which direction it is pointing.

Must obey the sheep dog

Re: had to happen.

WOW! Glad you are ok. Anytime you come into contact with a semi and walk away is a blessing.

I think BDA is right about your forks. Bike is probably totalled.

Re: had to happen.

+100 on Good to hear you are ok. The bike... i'm thinking the insurance company will declare it a "total." Once stuff like forks get bent they don't like to pay for repairs.
