Removing engine on 893

is the swing arm connected to the engine on a 1995 893 or is it connected to the frame. i have a service manual but it doesnt say and as far as i can see frrom the bike its just connected to the frame.

aso would a 919 engine fit straight in to this frame.

cheers jon

Re: Removing engine on 893

No, the swingarm didn't connect to the frame on those bikes.
You can swap a 919 engine into the frame and it will bolt right up, but I'm pretty sure you'll need the whole kit to make it work right. The carbs, the ECU, wiring harness, guages, etc.
But I've never done it, so I can't say for sure.

Re: Removing engine on 893

just had another look and the swingarm is connected to the frame.

i thought the 919 was just a bored out 893 and as such the wiring would be the same

Re: Removing engine on 893

You can do a direct engine swap. They are the same exact engine. The bore and stroke is different.

You will need the guage cluster and wiring in order to have the speedometer and the like work.

I took a 1994 CBR and am ran a 1997 engine. My only screw-up was that I wanted the 1998 dash. Oops - I have no speedo. Everything else works great though.
