They had a ZX636R sliced in such a way that you could check otu the internals along with the exhaust make up - tell you what, I WISH I had taken my camera. The amount of stuff in the can alone that would restrict airflow and strangle the engine like crazy is amazing - it's no wonder full systems make a difference when the bike is tuned. Not only is there a honeycomb style metal filter thing at the start of the can (in a very pretty red) there is then a small pipe that collects the air that is then passed through a series of bends before it finally gets to the exit of the pipe...

Surprised the bikes actually make any power at all... Very eye opening

Well.. actually, yes, I did take my camera - but a friend was already inside and he ALWAYS take shis camera ( Canon Ixus 2mega pixel thing) that is better than mine - so I just took my compact flash card and was gonna use his camera - but guess what - he didn't bring his camera and I couldn't be bothered going back to the car park to get mine..
