900RR exhaust swap

I'm in want of a new exhaust for my '95 900RR. Do you guys know if a 1996 or 1997 header will bolt up to a '95 model year? I've found several bolt on cans for the 96-97 but nothing much for my 95 header ( different mounting flange). Besides some guy rearended my exhaust and bent the header.

I'm looking at getting an OEM header and an aftermarket bolt on can.

1993-95 engine is different in some areas as compared to the 96-97 engine, I just want to know if a 96-97 header will still bolt up right to the 95 engine.

Thanks

Oh yeah, if you have any exhaust leaks, fixing them will make the engine run much better.. lol I put new gaskets on mine today, wow what a difference!

If that's the case then any exhaust from 1993-1999 will bolt up.

Re: 900RR exhaust swap

I'm thinking there is a difference in the exhaust can flange, like possibly hole diameter is different and possibly the flange triangle points up instead of down?

A lot of the exhaust manufacturers say their system will only fit 1996-99. I wish i had both the early and later oem systems here to compare and post any physical differences.

For now I will go by the assumption that all years , 93-99 headers are interchangeable.

Re: 900RR exhaust swap

Give Two Brothers Racing a call. They sell a high mount and low mount system for the 95 900RR.....they just don't list it on their website. I have the high mount C2 cannister and it looks great.

From 1993 - 1995 the engine was 893cc
From 1996 - 1999 the engine was 919cc
