I need Help installing motovation "cut" Sliders.

Ok, I’ve got all the plastic off but not sure where to go from here… I have an ’06 CBR1000RR that I’ve just received the Motovation Cut Frame Sliders (PN: FSH014) for but I’m not sure which bolts to remove. I’ve gone to the Motovation instillation page but from the pictures I’m still note sure. Does anyone have any good pictures for this? I need to be spoon fed... please! J

Don't do it for me... do it for the Beautiful machine!
It would be a shame to lose her so early in her life (350miles)!

Re: I need Help installing motovation "cut" Sliders.

Are the ‘04-’05 1000RR frames the same as the ’06? The plastic is different isn’t it? Are these the right bolts to remove (w/arrow)?
Thanks and Oh BTW; Happy New Year!!!

P.S. Is this the correct Torque (54Nm)?

Re: I need Help installing motovation "cut" Sliders.

That's right. You are good to go. I'm speaking from experience, that would be $202.00 worth of experience cause I cut my RH fairing in the wrong place (damn). You'll actually end up cutting your mid fairing and lower to install the slider. Take your time.

There is a good how to article for the 04-05 1000RR (I know you said you have an 06) that might help you do the job. Honda CBR1000RR Tech

Hey CBRSensei,
Thanks for the link, it will be great help as I'm also going to install the Protons! I've ordered the Service Manual off of eBay from rifbook ($38.00 delivered). That should help some with my mods.

Re: I need Help installing motovation "cut" Sliders.

Well, I've done it!!! I'll post pics later. Made a couple of errors but not bad at all for the first time I've had to cut. They look great! the one thing that I got caught on was I went too fast on the second side and I drilled from the inside out. But over all it came out very good. It really wasn't hard at all. I'll also have to post the process, it wasn't the same as the '04-'05.

Re: I need Help installing motovation "cut" Sliders.

for the 06 you are better off using a dremel with a spiral cutter on it.

because of where the engine bolt is you have to cut a half moon in the mid and lower fairing not a full circle.

check out this pic of my race plastic
it shows exactly what i am talking about
i took the slider off to show the hole better

no prob
i admire the fact you are going to do it yourself
i did my track plastic but was too much of a chicken to cut my shiny black fairing myself

Re: I need Help installing motovation "cut" Sliders.

I ended up having to drill on a "bump" in my fairing with the hole saw. But a LOT of masking tape and slow, light pressure on the saw, allowing it to cut slowly did the trick, without any issues on my 97 CBR900.
