Re: Touch Up Paint

I was taking a stickers off the front fairing, and I managed to nick the pearl white paint, so now the black underneath is showing. Anyone have any suggestions on how I can touch this up?

Thanks,
JBird

Re: Touch Up Paint

Try fingernail polish.

For best results, though, use http://www.paintscratch.com/, with http://www.langka.com/

Re: Touch Up Paint

Doesn't Honda sell touch up paint? I was wondering that myself. If not, go to the auto parts store and get some pearl white that will be close. Sometimes the cap brush in those touch up bottles is too big. If so, you can use the end of a matchstick.

Re: Touch Up Paint

Stick one of those 74 Daijiro Forever sticker over the nick.

EDIT: CORRECTED 'DAIJIRO'

Re: Touch Up Paint

I've purchased paint from color-rite in the past, and was very happy. The pearl paint on the 929 is a three part paint, so it does not 'touch up' well. There is a base color coat, the pearl coat, and then the clear coat.

Just thought you might like to know, in case you ever have a larger area that you want to paint yourself.
