undetail - quick question please help

eBay Motors: 2001 CBR 929 UNDERTAIL (item 120114258793 end time May-01-07 08:34:12 PDT)

ok I just won this undertail off ebay, and I asked the seller twice if the undertail comes with hardware, lock relocation etc...,

he reply with; it uses your original trunk.

Now I'm not sure if i should send the money for this undertail because he is not giving me information about it.

No, I purchased a fully stock 2000 929RR
It's still equipped with the OEM under tail.
I'm still trying to find out what under tail this is....

oh, my bad, i was thinking of another guy whose undertail "fell" off. anyway, i would check to see if you can find the same one on another website. hotbodies etc....and see if it is right. maybe see if he can give you the original part number and manufacturer.

Re: undetail - quick question please help

Definately pay, you bid and one the auction. More than likely it will work with your existing hardware. You may have to cut your stock undertail and this will "bolt" on directly below.

Break Lites: Eurobikes GP style tail light

ok this is my best guess, and this is the tail i originally wanted, just could not afford it... seems to me the owner hacked into it and installed built in turn singals under the tail, if so the original GP tail DID come with a lock relocation kit, and this tail was disscontinued!... ill pay for the item now and contact eurobikes.com

Re: undetail - quick question please help

You can see the hole in it that would be for relocating your lock. However, you are supposed to ask all questions before you bid. If you don't like the answer then don't bid. But if you win an item you can't decide to not pay just because you didn't ask the right questions first IMHO.

I think what he is saying is that it uses the original trunk lock, but you will need to relocate it. It's looks like a similar set up to mine.

Re: undetail - quick question please help

It's been a while since I looked at my undertail, but I think the way the undertail is set up it allows you to lock/unlock the trunk without rigging anything special.
