help please!!

i own a 01 929 and recently the idle its been runing rough and after a one or two minutes stalls. i start it again and it does it well but the idle still rough. i though the problem was the pc so i took it off but still. i found a similar post and the guy says to pull off the hose from the fuel pressure regulator and if any fuel comes out its a bad regulator but theres is no fuel coming out but (again) when i took off the hose the idle just went right, put the hose again into the regulator and the idle went bananas. its a bad fuel pressure regulator? if it is, this guy says that it should have fuel coming out, but theres none.

Re: help please!!

I say start trouble shooting with the easy stuff first. Are the fuel lines pinched causing resrtricted fuel flow? Is your 929 a Cali Model?

Re: help please!!

it is a cali model and theres no pinched fuel lines. could it be the fuel filter?
the strange thing is when i pull off the hose fron the pressure regulator the idle comes back to normal.

Re: help please!!

Service Manual says:

1. Intake Air Leak
2. Fuel Contaminated/deteriorted
3. Pinched or clogged fuel tube
4. Idle speed misadjusted
5. Starter Vave synchronization misadjusted

We know it's not #3, so do the process of elimination. Hope this helps. Good luck.
