Re: No power to tach?

I would say no but could be wrong.. I know I had a problem with the tach not working on my 01 F4i and it turned out to be a fuse. If you have not checked already look at the fuses and make sure one is not poped..

Re: No power to tach?

Throttle cable...no. Not sure about the kill switch

Try checking the connection for the instrument display.

Re: No power to tach?

Per my answer in your original post no the kill switch does not need to be operational for your insturment cluster to power up. The kill switch simply interrupts your ground connection for the ignition system. Make sure the harness is securely plugged in to the back of your instrument cluster. Some history surrounding this problem would be useful in assisting you with information on how to trouble shoot this problem. Is this a recent wreck that you are fixing did you buy the bike not functional did it just suddenly quit will it fire and run?
