tires?

I am looking for some opinions on the best tires to buy for my needs... There will be no racing involved, good tread life as i will be doing a good amount of highway riding, decently priced... I am hearing a lot about the dunlop qualifiers for tread life. Does anyone else know of a good motorcycle tire with decent tread life?

Re: tires?

Re: tires?

I use Avon Azaros on my 97 900RR. They get incredible mileage. I'm currently at 6K with them and they hardly look worn. I do 60% highway and 40% twisties and group riding.

Great place to get tires here:
Street Tires Motorcycle

I got the Azaros for $240, shipped.

Re: tires?

Pirelli Diablo Strada's are very good. Stick well and last a long time. Don't knowck them until you try them, then you'll love them!

I have 6K on my current set of Avon Azaros. I've hear mileage upwards of 10-13K.

Re: tires?

6k is pretty good on a rear tire, NO burnouts and most my tires are to the cords at 5k. The battleaxes are hard tires and I think they would also work well.

Re: tires?

I was at 12k on my last set of Pilot Powers on my old bike when I threw it down the road. plenty of tread left. I think I'm around 7k on my current set.

you're gonna get as many answers as there are tires out there.

the Bridgestone BT020s sound like they would suit your needs very well though.

if you can't convince them, confuse them.

Re: tires?

Hmm.... but I guess none of these questions are really necessary if you can get a set of tires from the link that renegade929 posted up for 180 shipped to your door huh? Has anyone here used these Pirelli Diablo Supersports? Know if they get at least 5000 miles in the rear tire?

I just passed the 1000km 600mile mark since buying my blade, it had fairly good front and a half used up rear when I got it. If you can get that kind of use out of those tires I think I'll try a new pair when these are done. They really stick and I don't ride very hard imo.

Re: tires?

The Pirelli's should last 5000 street miles with no burn outs.
