Hello everyone i've been looking for frame sliders for my 900RR and i am not sure on what to look out for ...i see ppl saying be careful not to get ones that bolt to the fairing ...does anyone have any good recommendations? I was looking at a couple but i wanted to get some input from all of you before i decided on what to get.

Re: Frame Sliders 99 CBR900RR

I installed a set on a 99 for a friend couple of years ago. Drilled through the fairings with a hole saw. I don't remember where he got them from but I do remember the package said they were for the newer bikes too. They looked ok after, but we were very careful about the drilling.

I have Pro-Tek sliders on my 97. Same mid-fairing, so you'll have to drill. Project only took an hour. Here's a great article on how-to. It's what I used as a guide:

I have sold many sets of the Pro-Tek frame sliders. They are very good quality. You do have to drill two large holes in the mid fairings.

I used the PlayDough method.

That's good advice Sinfuldragon. That link on "how to drill for framesliders" is very good and accurate.

I can only emphasize that you use all the fairing hardware when installing the mid fairings for the test fit/ hole alignment.

I didn't do this on one side (need to replace the fairing so wasn't too worried). after the hole saw came the dremmel to make the hole bigger so the slider would go though
