Heating frame

Hi guyz,

First of all I proudly announce that I moved here from the naked section
I bought a '00 929 RR and just selling my 919 Hornet. Since I'm new to sportbikes I think I'll have some stupid questions... I'm sorry in advance
The first strange thing is when I go slow in the traffic and the engine temperature rises the frame also starts heating. By the time the coolant is about 100 C the frame is so hot it almost burns my knee. Is it natural behavior or is there something wrong?

Re: Heating frame

Yes, it's natural. If you're wearing leathers it shouldn't bother you...

Re: Heating frame

Yes, in leathers I haven't noticed it only in jeans. But it's rare that I ride in jeans anyway. Only I was a bit confused about it. Thanks for the info!

Re: Heating frame

ya they get hot alright! The 954 I had felt like it got real hot - not noticed it quite as much with the 929 but its does definitely get hot.
