Re: 929 Rear Hugger

I have been running an Extreme Graphics hugger for a year or so, I had to shim it with washers to keep it from rubbing the sides of the pilot. Next set of tires were Rennsports, they cleared but Metzler quit making the street version. Yesterday I put *a Rennsport RS3 tire on which is a 190/55 instead of a 50 and it rubbed so bad I had to take the hugger off. I'm looking for a replacement.

What do you have on your 929 and how do you like it?

Re: 929 Rear Hugger

The one I have is for an R1. Less contoured so it does'nt rub.

Re: 929 Rear Hugger

I had a NWS 929 hugger, no rubbing. Liked it alot. Wasn't the R1 style, more rounded around the tire.

Pic of the installed hugger.

Re: 929 Rear Hugger

I have a Harris hugger (available from ema-usa.com) and the quality is excellent. Clearance is not a problem with street tires, but could be with race rubber as they usually have a taller profile. It would be possible to space it upward if you want to mount race rubber.

Re: 929 Rear Hugger

I have the Euro Bikes and love it. They used OEM paint so it looks like stock and the quality is second to none.

On the Pilot it rubbed on the can side about 1/2 inch from the edge so I spaced it with a washer under the two bolts at the back.

Metzler is only making their Rennsports in a race version with the RS3 being the hardest but it's also taller. I will probably try some Diablo 's next go round but I definetly want to run a hugger.

I was bettin he was about to pull a draft pass for the WIN!!! just like Daytona, sucked to be him at that moment.
