Rev counter problem....

Greetings to all, I am new here, hello.

My problem is that my rev counter dont work, I have put a voltage accross the meter and the needle moved, so the clock itself is ok.
I have checked the immediate connection to the wiring loom and it seems to be ok. Where does the signal come from? Is it the ICM under the seat?
If anyone has any ideas what I should be looking at, then all help appreciated.

Thanks folks!!

Re: Rev counter problem....

Well I spliced a bypass of the wiring loom direct to the ICM, even then the needle dint move, so I spose the ICM is broken, Is that possible. Oh I'm sure they break, but can just that part of it be broken?
There does look like a possible short happened in the past as one of the wires had been worn through where the loom rubs against the mounting bracket for the clocks. Perhaps that burnt out the bit for the rev counted.
What do you think/know that might help???
