929 - Throttle body (or Starter Valve) Sync Question

Hey guys, I just picked up a 2000 929 and as I'm going through everything in preparation for a track day, I was planning on sync'ing the throttle bodies, or the starter valves in Honda's case...

I've already done some extensive searches of the archives here, and found some good "how to's", but I haven't seen my problem addressed.

Where the manual (and pictures I've seen posted on this site) show that I should have threaded ports to attach my Carbtune or vacuum gauges, I've got nothing.

Well, not nothing. It looks like the location for these ports were cast into the head, but never tapped... Can that be possible?

Has anyone else had this problem?

Thanks-

Jason

Re: 929 - Throttle body (or Starter Valve) Sync Question

So I've got the only 2000 929 with this problem?

Man, I was hoping that this was an old issue that was long ago solved somehow...

Assuming I'm just screwed on the vacuum access ports, any other thoughts on how to balance the throttle bodies? I remember seeing a vacuum gauge that you simply place in the mouth of the throttle body intake (velocity stack?) and it reads each cylinder individually. It was in an article in BIKE magazine a couple years back when one of the editors rebuilt a tired 900RR. Of course, it had carbs, but the same theory applies.

Extensive Google searches for this tool have turned up nothing.

If anyone has any ideas, please let me know.

Thanks-

Jason
