Re: 929 PROBLEM?

HI ALL,

READ, CBR 629 (12 OCT 03) PROBLEM, AND ALL THE HELP HE RECIEVED...
WONDER IF YOU CAN DO THE SAME 4 ME.

WENT OUT TO START MY 929 THE OTHER DAY, *GOT RED LIGHT, FUEL PUMP AND ALL THE NORMAL START UP REQUIREMENTS, APART FROM A LOUD CLICKING NOISE FROM UNDER THE SEAT. ENGINE DOESN'T *TURN OVER, JUST THIS CLICKING.
USING THE HONDA MANUAL I VE NARROWED IT DOWN TO THE MAGNETIC SWITCH.

ANY ADVICE, APART FROM SEEING A BLADE DOCTOR?

THANKS

Re: 929 PROBLEM?

Might be that the battery does not have enough charge. I'd try that first since it's easy to do.

Re: 929 PROBLEM?

That's your starter clicking. The battery is too weak to turn it.

Re: 929 PROBLEM?

I have jumped my 929 and RC51 from my Suburban dozens of times without any problem. The 'jumper warning' is an urban legend myth . . .

Re: 929 PROBLEM?

Why not just push start it? There should be enough juice in the battery to get the thing running if the engine is kicked over externally...

Z...

You're f%#&king up my Chi...

Re: 929 PROBLEM?

The secret to jump starting a motorcycle from a car's battery is simple. Make sure the car isn't running.
The amperage (strength of current) on a car is greater than that of a m/c and will fry your shizzle.
Carry on.

Re: 929 PROBLEM?

Not a bad idea to leave the car off, but there are a hell of a lot of different amperage ratings on cars and trucks...and some (like my Mustang) probably aren't far off a bike.
