Re: Took an '00 for a test ride.

Have to say coming off my zx7r the 929 felt damm quick. Whooping amounts of mid range. Obviously it was going to feel quicker than my 7r, but i didn't expect that much more mid range.

They were lucky to get the dam thing back, i was riding around for most of the afternoon with a big smile on my face, dicking around looking for something to race. Got to try out the handling too (partly because i approached a set of bends quicker than planned), i just got off the bike, laid it down and it was effortless to get round the bend. Hey, suspension that works, what a novelty. I want some more of this. And the brakes, they were like putting the world in reverse, good thing the work well though with torque like that. I can't wait to get one of these on track, felt like you can push it pretty hard with the susp set right and some good rubber.

Overall very impressed with the bike, i definately getting one now. In fact, i bought some cleaning products on the way home get i can get mine sorted and get her up for sale!! Anyways just gotta find myself a good low mileage one. Prefferably with full akra, ohlins, and a PCIIIr, but that would be hoping, a low miler will do.

Looking forward to having so serious fun.

Nick.

Or see if you can grab a 954 as someone goes buggy over the latest 1000?

Re: Took an '00 for a test ride.

don't let my Kwak loving friends read this. They insist their Kwak is better than anything Honda could ever make.

....Remember, the Kwaker hasn't changed since 95-96, while the 929 is only 4 yrs. old.

Be fast or be last.

Re: Took an '00 for a test ride.

I came off of a Zx7R to the 929 as well. I remember thinking on my way home from the dealer, 'what in the hell have I been missing?' I still love the looks of the ZX7r, though. She was my 1st love. Only wish that I could have kept her and still gotten the 929.

Re: Took an '00 for a test ride.

Welcome to the org - do yourself a favour. buy your add ons from the US and get them shipped - unless your import duties are horrific, it will save you about 50% on buying at home - especially if the UK is anything like Aus with aftermarket parts ($1264US for a full Hindle here, as apposed to about $700US in the US of A)

PC 3's are below half price ($491US here, and about $260US in the good ol US of A.)

Otherwise - the search button is your friend, and you will LOVE the bike.

Re: Took an '00 for a test ride.

Welcome! I bought my 929 in 2000, and I'm still loving it. It has been great for track days. I have thought about moving to something else many times because of all the tasty new choices, but I just keep coming back to the question, 'Why change?'.

It is still not far off the weight of the lightest of the 600's, but with more power. It handles great, and I'm still learning with it. Nothing much has ever gone wrong with it. It is a stong performer, easy to ride fast, reliable, and is already sitting right there in my garage. I don't know how I'll give it up, because it's been so much pleasure to own and ride. It is all around the best of the 12 motorcycles I've owned since 1980.
