Newbie

Greetings, I'm new to fireblades.org & making my first post here. I just picked up my new yellow & black "08 CBR1000RR 4 days ago & I've certainly got no regrets. My last bike was an "03 CBR600RR & I've got to say the new bike is definitely more flickable than the old which is quite an accomplishment for the Honda engineers. I've got only 170 miles on the clock so far (late winter/ early spring in northeast Ohio) & am keeping the revs under 6k & the chicken strips intact until the engine is broken in & until the weather warms up, respectively. I'm 49 years old & this is the 5th road bike I've owned. Ive tallied up about 120,000 miles over the years & take pilgrimages to the twisties of southern Ohio & West Virginia several times a year. No track riding to date but I really should do some (esp. with the new blade). Any other new CBR1000RR owners out there. I would appreciate hearing your stories.

Re: Newbie

to the site,

there are a lot of new RR8 owners on here, do a search and you will find some.

There is a few posts about how the 2008 compares to the previous bikes and what peoples views are about them.

Hope you enjoy your stay

Re: Newbie

I am also new to the sportbike scene. I have had many bikes over the years ranging from a 1967 Honda 90 at age 15 (used) to full on dirt bikes and dual sport bikes. I am older fart that you are at age 53, I struggled with the purchase of a sport bike but finally gave in when I found a yellow and blue 06 1000rr with 350 miles on it a 2 months left on the factory warrantee.
I certainly am more conservative that most of the younger crowd but still enjoy twisting the throttle and having that rush when the urge hits.
