Us Erion 929 , Restricted or not

A couple of things, can anyone tell me if my erion is restricted or not, I'm sure its not a Calafornian model. Also whats the bhp at crank as well as the wheel? I'm asking as I've just had a custom map done but only pushing out 119 rwhp so I'm confused as to why the figure is so low , or is it?

Re: Us Erion 929 , Restricted or not

if it's a cali model then i think there is an o2 sensor on the exhaust.

all dyno's are different. mine w/ slip on and pc3 got 133 at wheel

Re: Us Erion 929 , Restricted or not

I cant say that the bike is restricted, but its not gonna make that top 186mph in order to need to be restricted. Well i cant say that it wont make 186mph but i can say that it is unlikely. As for the 119, the dyno that the mags use and different dealers or dyno shops use are all gonna read different. The temp, humidity, altitude and such are gonna be the difference there.

Re: Us Erion 929 , Restricted or not

The only thing that restricts the non Erion edition is that the frame is not powder coated. Everybody knows that this slows down the bikes by at least 10 HP. Now the Erion are are always faster because of the diffrence in the frame less drag = more speed. They are all restricted stock there is no diffrence.

Re: Us Erion 929 , Restricted or not

Yeah I've been told dyno's give different numbers but its a big deficit from 130 rwhp . I'll check with the frame number to see what state it was from to clear that question up. Still not sure if the 130 figure is wheel or crank yet but maybe a visit to a dealer can clarify. thanks for the input so far everyone.

Re: Us Erion 929 , Restricted or not

it really just varies from bike to bike, dyno to dyno, day to day.
my bike dynoed at 131rwhp after tuning with a BMC filter, and full Sato exhaust. it was 125 baseline before tuning and I know I gained a ton right when I fitted the exhaust before tuning.

if you can't convince them, confuse them.

Re: Us Erion 929 , Restricted or not

Do you think there may be a problem elsewhere which will affect the bikes performance? In all honesty i'm pretty pe'ed after spending money on something thats suppuosed to improve but hasn't gained anything really although looking at the readout the fuel/air mixture is a lot beter. after all its supposed to be 130 on a stock bike and I've gone down in power. its certainly a mystery.

I think there are other issues restricting the output.

Don't the europeans have a different rating of HP's?? tha could explain the difference between ours and yours.

After having the erion for this many years IMHO, the most important thing is getting the throttle to smoothen out, including the dreaded off on throttle blip.

Re: Us Erion 929 , Restricted or not

What aftermarket pieces have you added?
A PCIII alone will not increase anything. It will smooth out the throttle response.
Mine got 128 as a baseline reading.
Full Serpent, Modded Air Box, street fuel (92 octane), 520 chain conversion, and tuned with a PCIIIr netted 140 HP.

Re: Us Erion 929 , Restricted or not

I've just put a carbon road legal slip-on and pc111 with oem filter and plugs. The dyno was done with the baffle in , I know for sure that I can an xtra 5hp with the baffle out but that just attracts pc plod.

Re: Us Erion 929 , Restricted or not

Are your tuners using a Dyno-Jet 250?
Those are the ones giving the highest HP readings. Also the one my bike was tuned on.
An eddy current dyno would show that I'm running much less HP than the Dyno-jet 250. Probably somewhere in the 125 HP range.

I'd say your bike is fine then. I'd bet mine was probably around that when all I had was a bolt on. my current bike felt a little weaker than my first 929 but each bike is different.
