Re: bad idle? not so bad

I was turning my bike on today, and I noticed that idle kinna goes down a few rpms but not much but its sounds like its about to die. does anyone know anything about this? my bike has about 14500 miles on it, I was thinking about cleaning my carbs or changing my spark plugs or even cleaning out my air box, but not sure what else to think of. I want to do this all on my own because I have no money to send it to the dealership. so insigh people pls.

thanks

mark

Re: bad idle? not so bad

Your identification of the problem is lacking. Please expound on your previous description, i.e upon cold idle, during xxxrpm, etc.

Re: bad idle? not so bad

Assuming it's a 929/954, there are no carbs to clean.

Do the throttlebody sync. While there, check your plugs; they're either due or overdue.

Just turn the idle speed adjustment knob.

Re: bad idle? not so bad

The idle speed adjustment will be a good band-aid until you can do the starter valve sync. There is a how-to in the knowledge base, check it out.

Re: bad idle? not so bad

Hey Mark, you actually put 14,500 on your bike to only find out now that it is fuel injected??? What are you gonna do when you get the 2004 CBR1000RR with a 'cassette tranny?'
