Re: My new tires came in,

Just picked up my new Avon AV45/AV46 (ala Chain) rubber today. Man, that rear tire is pure sex in person. Might be a few days before I can get them mounted. I only have a rear stand - any way I can somehow get the front up in the air? All I have is a regular floor jack - don't think I could use that without removing the headers.

Let's get this out of the way now -
DO A SEARCH! > > Bacchus

BTW, on an unrelated note, at 4:30 PM is is 68 deg. outside here, 74 deg. in the house. I am wearing sweat pants and a heavy shirt - I am freezing! No kidding, you do get accustomed to the heat, and not the cold, here in the desert.
We keep our house at 80 deg. in the summer, otherwise the electric bill would be huge.

TIA for any serious (or non-serious) replies .

Are you pulling the wheels off to have the tires mounted or are you doing it yourself with a crowbar, butterknife and some vaseline?

No matter how beautiful a woman may be, some man somewhere is sick of her sh!t.

Re: My new tires came in,

Do you have a way of suspending the front end? That works rather well

Great looking tread pattern, isn't it?

Poor Lil Bit BTW...glad you got your tires...think you might actually go for a ride?

Congrats Lil Bit, let us know what you think of them...I'll be in new tire mode by mid spring(July 15th here).

Re: My new tires came in,

I changed mine using a rear pitbull stand, and a floor jack for the front. I gently push up on the headers with the floor jack. It pivots on the rear stand, so very little force is required. I would advise a good rear stand with spools, to pull this off.

Don't have spools (yet). Can't I duplicate this scenario with a regular rear stand? It sounds sorta scary to me, at any rate. Maybe I shall experiment (wish me luck, wish me luck).

Re: My new tires came in,

I'd have the shop do it...the bucks you might save pulling the wheels yourself...might be spent replacing plastic...They have to be slowing down...negotiate a deal

Best-o-luck.
