1 Litre of Oil

Hi, I have a 2008 blade and just completed 4k miles, 1 litre of all has been used in 3400 miles, Honda have told me this is a characteristic of the bike. Wondering if anybody has same experience or info regarding this issue. This is not what I expect from Honda`s, my previous bikes have only ever had top ups between services. . Ps, I have run in according to manual and I do ride reasonably hard although very rarely redline it.

Tail tidy and Pazzo`s are on, rear pegs are off, exhaust flapper mod is done! looks and sounds SPOT ON!!!!

Re: 1 Litre of Oil

Is this problem characteristic of the 08? I have an 07 and have not notice this kind of consumption.

Re: 1 Litre of Oil

I will post some further info - re valve seals / rings etc! My dealer has been asked by Honda to re asses after a further 500miles from the service, who knows there may be a recall/mod required. By all accounts BMW`s are at least as bad

Re: 1 Litre of Oil

My -08 Fireblade has eated Motul 1/3 between oil stick marks in 2000 miles after first oil change. That is quaite normal. I think so . Oil level should be in upper side of lower mark when I change oil from my bike in 3750 miles.

How much is oil capacity between oil stick marks in litres?

Re: 1 Litre of Oil

Ive read this problem elsewhere, seem to be common - although I wouldn't say right as all my other Honda's did not use any oil up.

Fortunatly Im still running 07, no oil usage.

Re: 1 Litre of Oil

My blade 08 had its first oil change at 1,000 km and now it has 3,000. I had never topped it up! always on the max mark of the dip stick I ride it like crazy and keep all other liter bikes in mirror. I think the oil problem is not all on engines
