Fuel puddle in carb

I removed my air filter box to day and noticed a puddle of fuel in the carb for cylinder 2. After noticing this I started my bike up to see if that carb was spitting an excessive amount of fuel in. When it was running sure enough that carb was pouring more fuel in than the others. Has anyone else had this problem? How do you fix it?

Re: Fuel puddle in carb

You fix it by rebuilding the carbs, especially the one with the broken float.

Re: Fuel puddle in carb

you mean you can see fuel coming up from the back of the carb? Is it coming out the hole the needle is going into? Sounds like you have a float trying to stick. If you can get to it (it's gonna be tough), try tapping it with a wooden handle screwdriver and see if it quits. May just be a piece of dirt in your needle seat.

Re: Fuel puddle in carb

Exactly theres fuel puddling down on the flap in the back of the carburetor when the bike is idling. When I shut the bike off fuel still comes up and threw the hole with the needle, leaving a nice puddle of fuel in the carb. I'll try tapping it hopefully that will do it. If not I'll pull the carbs off this weekend and clean them real good. Thanks for the tip.
