why does my bike [email protected] first 2500rpms?

i have an 04 1000rr with a slip on jardine, stretched 8 inches, pc3, and it sputters at the first 2500 rpms on take off only. the response is minimal on throttle, and the more throttle i give it makes it shudder harder. it did this before pc3 and i figured it would help but didnt. i do have the flapper valve removed. what can i do to get rid of sputtering and/or get better throttle response?

Have either of you resolved that issue with your bike? Mine 02' 954 does the same thing when taking off slow and easy and when I give it more throttle it won't stop until about 6000 and then takes off....not sure what the deal is?

Try removing the PC3 (disconnect it) and see if it makes any differences - some times the map can drop and go bad.

I don't have a PC3.....but thought about getting one. Did you take the flapper out of yours or eliminate the HTEV? I also thought about doing that along with adding a PC3 and a HR1 Exhaust....

Re: why does my bike [email protected] first 2500rpms?

I was referring to Majikkev's first post... Just trying to isolate the problem (process of elimination)

The flapper is only a flap which opens and closes to restrict the air flow to help control the noise being emitted... Removing it from what I have read doesn't actually gain you any extra BHP, just helps save on weight.

No, but once I return from deployment I plan on doing a big tune up...
