I have just had the engine of my 2000 rry rebuilt and the digital dash no longer works. The garage says it was broken when they had it, I know it wasn't but thats a different story.

My question is this, has anybody experienced this before and is there any remedy short of getting a new dash.

The symptoms are:

Not working
Tacho
Speedo
Temp Gauge
FI light
Oil Pressure Light

Working
Neutral Light
Turn Indicators
Main Beam

I had lost my LCD's but I think I still had the idiot lights when I blew a fuse a while back so it's probably not a fuse but have you checked them?
Pull the instrument cluster connector and check all the pins for power when the various instruments should be powered up. If they're getting power _then_ you could try another cluster. You could probably also test the pins in the cluster directly to a 12V battery to see if the individual lights and things work. Probably worth putting a _very_ low amp fuse in the line just in case any of them only draw a tiny amount for some reason.
Is the oil pressure switch connected?
It's in the back of the cylinders just right of centre.
I don't recall what the symptoms were but I eventually discovered I had a completely severed wire in the harness (due to crash damage) on my ZX6R that wasn't visible until I unwrapped the harness. Maybe they accidently crushed the harness during installation.
