What's your gearing?

I had an epiphany on my observation that my previous 929 was more wheelie-happy than my 1000 is. I picked up the 929 used, so odds are the gearing had been changed significantly from stock. I'd like to do the same with my 1000, since it would make the bike a lot more streetable, not to mention a kick in the pants. Hence, the poll!

+2 on the rear. Now that I put on a stabilizer I think I might try -1 front. What do you guys think?

Re: What's your gearing?

For me it just depends on what im doing, state to state i will do +1/+2 on the front as im lookin for mileage and low revs, city im like -1, maybe +3, i just want the zip in the city. On the track (roadcourse) im lookin at -1/+3,4.

Re: What's your gearing?

-2 front/ +3 on the rear. Set up strictly for 1/8 mile. If I ever get 997 going, I'm going back to 47 on rear.

I have and 06 1000rr and i just did -1 in the front and stock rear and i love it thinking about doing +1 or 2 in the rear also not so sure about the +2 might be a little over the top but i love it really woke the motor up with the long gears i would suggest anybody with a CBR do a sprocket change

Re: What's your gearing?

My 929 I just picked up is -1 + 5. Never rode her though as she had a rod through the block. I'm getting ready to put in a 954 motor. Also it's stretched 10" and slammed. Should be a drag monster
