Re: 1999 cbr900rr possible spun bearing??
It depends how badly damaged it is. Can you hear it banging?
Usually it's rod bearings that spin. The shells bite the crankpin and get spun in the rod so you might have to replace a rod as well.
It should be possible to machine a journal under-size but you might struggle to find an over-size bearing to fit it.
You could also have the journal sprayed or welded up and then machined back to the correct size.
It might just be a whole lot easier and cheaper to find a good crank (or engine) and drop that in though.
Apparently, on the 900RR you can reach the bigends through the sump without removing the engine or splitting the cases so you can inspect the bearings first. If you're really lucky it's not too bad and you can just pop some new shells in.
