Re: 2008 Fireblade Recall

I still have not bought an exhaust, but I have been looking again, funds are still low though The Taylor Made comes to 950 including the PCIII.I quite like the Leo Vince GP Pro, including the heat shield (435.28 + 20 p&p) and a PCV (274 + 5 p&p) comes to 734.28 delivered. I am not sure how these two compare from a performance point of view, does anyone here know? So then I started think, would buying a full system and PC make much difference? I suppose the Yoshi would have to be the option. More money, but the end can and chip seems a lot of money for probably very little gain and shinney headers look better than the dull OE ones. Spring is looming too

Re: 2008 Fireblade Recall

I read somewhere that the TM was very loud and didn't give much of an improvement in performance. I read that a while ago though mate, so I'm not sure.

As for full systems, the HM plant guys who I spoke to at an open day said not to bother as the stock headers flow very well anyway.

Don't get me wrong, if you have the money do it as they look a lot better.

But then again, these days we are all watching the pennies. Hence one reason why I went with the Scorpion as it didn't need a PC so saved me a few hundred quid.

Let us know what you decide buddy.

Re: 2008 Fireblade Recall

I have just had to cough up 650 on parts for my car, need it for work. So it has knocked me back a little getting parts for my bike. But I am hoping to sort it before spring, if it turns up.

Re: 2008 Fireblade Recall

I just bought a 2008 CBR 1000, and I was wondering if there are any other recalls out there. The clutch on mine feels a little wierd and seem s like it does not completely disengage when coming out of first gear. Has anyone heard anything about clutch issues with this model?

There are two official recalls for the 2008 CBR1000RR: the water hose band and inner clutch basket replacements.

I can't find the water hose band recall notice, but here's the clutch recall notice:

Re: 2008 Fireblade Recall

Whats up? I'm thinking about buying a used 2008 cbr1000rr but the thing is it's from a auction. It was totaled out but the bike only needs a fairing, crank case, both mirriors, rear seat, left side foot rest and shifter bracket (i'll get it if I get a good deal on it but its not bad at all). My question is how can I find out if it has any recalls and if they've been fixed? Vin is JH2SC590X8M

Are you in U.S.? They supposed to put two punch marks on the head tube by the VIN if recalls have been done. You can also call American Honda Motor Co., Inc. (866) 784-1870.

Re: 2008 Fireblade Recall

I'm in Iraq right now and I go on leave in June. The bike sells on the 29th of this month so I want see it until about june. I will try an give honda a call tonight. Bike only has 1737 miles I was going to buy it from the auction and have my friend pick it up for me.

Since the bike has a salvage title it want be covered under any warranty work correct.

2) Rattling sound not sure coming from the engine or from the header/manifold of the exhaust.. how can i get rid of the sound or is it normal.

I have a 2008 and no such problems. I suggest you post your problem with a new title then more members will look it up as your problem is not a recall
