MAP SENSOR?

This is going to sound like a stupid question to alot of you but im not sure how straight forward repairs on these 929's are.

My Malfunction Indicator Lamp is on and it blinks twice. Now I looked up fault codes and they tell me a faulty MAP sensor. Now I also have symptom of occasional misfires and a low idle which I think may or may not be related to a faulty MAP. My question is... is it as straight forward as just replacing the MAP? I know in an automobile if a Malfunction Indicator Lamp give a fault code for a sensor, it is not always the sensors fault as the "readings" that the sensor is relaying back to the computer.

Replace MAP or get diagnosed by professional shop? How straight forward are these MIL codes?

Thanks in advance.

if i remember correctly, the map sensor is screwed onto the airbox, on the back right hand side of the bike. should be easy to change. are you sure it's the map sensor? remember that one long flash means 10. so 1 long and 1 short is error 11. check the error one more time to make sure.

check out a few pages of the manual.

you may have to zoom in to see it better. sorry for the small pictures.

Re: MAP SENSOR?

Have you looked at the sensor yet?
It may just have a loose connection or hose.
