nope, you would be the first person in the history of the RR8 to put frame sliders on it

Look at the highlight in what you wrote.

If someone installed them on your bike you wouldn't need to install them a second time.

Re: has anyone installed frame sliders on 08 blade???

I did my own sliders on my bike before it got stolen...needless to say its a pain in the ass. First off I'm guessing you already got some sliders which sucks since I would recommend getting the R&G sliders Honda CBR1000RR Aero Style Crash Protectors CP0228 , they look the sex and they come with a nifty tool to center your bit, basically they make a threaded spike that you screw into the frame bolt hole and then to get your reference you just push on the plastic and you get a little divot that you can use to center your drill.

The other things you have to do is remove the bottom cowl and unsnap the middle fairing from the ram air cover and upper cowl so you can get enough room to get your wrench in there. You can really pull on the plastic alot without hurting it, even though you feel like its gotta be bad. One thing to note is that when you drill the right side fairing the radiator hose is close to the hole you cut so you really dont want to drill like a mad man. I cant remember which side has the fiberglass heat shielding but all I did was cut the plastic and then pushed the slider spacer assembly throug the small hole made by the bit.

It took about an hour to do my sliders since I had never taken the cowls off and learning how to take them apart and put them together again took the most time.

Oh yeah when drilling use painters tape to cover the area where you drill...it seems to keep the hole neater and reduces slip of the bit since its impossible to drill the plastic on a level surface unless you take it completely off. I was gonna take some pics of the process but once I saw how easy it was to do with the threaded spike I just figured I would just get the job done and get back on the road

Use the laser trick. Just make sure that the bike doesnt move between taking the fairing off and on. Also, make sure to check the bolts after the next couple of rides as mine loosened up. I didnt use the locktite if I ever need to take them back off.
