GIVI rear hard case on 99 CBR900RR???

Has anyone ever done this? I hate putting everything in a backpack, and would love to mount the rear hardcase I already have. I didnt see any brackets on the GIVI site...just wondering if anyone has ever seen this, or done this themselves.

Thanks!

Well I've seen a top box mounted on a 954, so I guess it depends if anyone makes the required brackets for the 900.....

Actually, there does seem to be a kit available - Honda CBR 900 RRW Fireblade 98 GIVI Luggage System - Monokey Complete Rack Kit as seen on Wemoto.

I assume you're in the US, so the UK supplier might not be much help to you - but then again the exchange rate is in your favour at the moment!!

Hope this helps

I've seen it done before I think it looks terrible on a sport bike but hey to each and his own

Well, I sort of agree - the lines of a sports bike are never penned with a top box in mind! However it largely depends on what the bike is used for. The older 'Blades are so cheap now they make very good everyday bikes, as they're well built and go on forever, good on fuel too.

I have a Renntec rack on my bike - looks terrible, but it's bloody useful for trips out on the bike and commuting - I strap my laptop on to it.

Thing is, it's still a hassle, so much so that I've pretty much given up commuting on the bike and use the car - so I can see the benefit of a top box.

The other thing is, what bolts on can also be unbolted - the rack is not a permanent fixture! So you could even use the top box during the week and unbolt it at the weekend for playtime!

Just my

Hey, I agree too. It does look bad. I had the hard luggage on my Blackbird, and it looked bad on that too. But...it was great for commuting. I could toss my laptop, extra jacket, and lunch in the back...and securely keep my helmet, riding jacket and boots in it when I'm at work.
