Re: 08 blade tyre pressures?

The pressure on the sidewall is the _maximum_ load pressure.
It is not the recommended pressure.
The correct pressure is on the bike or in the owner's manual.

Re: 08 blade tyre pressures?

I think this could be down to personal choice too. I use what the bike recommends, but if it is warm and sunny (uk weather) then I will drop the pressures down to as low as 30 front and rear. This softens the carcass which in turns raises the temp and more grip. Or this is how I understand it, and what I have read, it work for me. Soft tyres wear out quiet quick though, but I find I can use Michelin Pilot Road 2CT's and raise and lower the pressure depending on weather and mood.

Re: 08 blade tyre pressures?

As Hoody says, all personal taste mate. 99% of sportsbike manuals will tell you to run standard pressures of 42psi rear and 36 psi front.

FWIW, this summer I ran approx 38R 32F and she handled like a dream on the OEM BT015s. Gonna get some Michelin Pilot Power 2CT off my tyre contact this winter ready for next year. Don't need them yet but they are cheaper to pick up this time of year.

For the very simple reason that modern sportsbikes run similar sized tyres and weigh similarly.
The correct tyre pressure is the pressure required to achieve the tyre's design _shape_ dependant on the amount of weight on it.
While it is common practise to adjust tyre pressures to alter the way the tyres work the correct way is to set the tyre pressures to their optimum and adjust the suspension until the tyres are working properly.

...and rear? I thought 42 rear was universal on most sport bikes?

I just pulled the numbers from the manual :-)
It all depends on the weight on each tyre. The pressure is what keeps it at the designed profile.
