Its true it helps with the low end. and you can pack it how you want to get the sound you like seven inches seems a little short.

Re: cutting down two bros exhaust on 954??

i really cant say for sure but how does the lenght of the can effect anything more than sound?

i ask this because i really dont understand, the restiction factor has already been addressed when you replaced the stock can with the bolt-on which is more open which also increased your sound so how does shortening it reduce more restriction? is it because it now has less lenght to travel through? and if that is the case, would it not benifit more from no muffler at all?

Re: cutting down two bros exhaust on 954??

the lenght does play a factor, but its mostly the lenght of the mid pipe that either loses or gains power. thats why i said earlier that the gain may not be noticable. besides that the shorter the piping the more top end power you should get and lose some low end power.

prime example harley guys love their custom cropped headers that are super short. if you dyno one back to back(stock to chopped), you can see the gain in hp but loss of some key torque in the lower rpms.
