Re: What is wrong with this picture??

Nothing other than the fact those aren't Akro cans on that TLR.

Now the question is, what are they exactly? Stockers after some paint work? Could be aftermarket jobbies too, D&D perhaps?

Edit: GREAT avatar, FBT!

Edit II: That can is too big for D&D methinks. I say stock with a rattle-can paint job. Either way, the guy is a f_cking moron.

Now that would be funny if it were a gixxer. If you just look at the rear cowl you would have see the v twin sticker and known it was a TL though.

I guess I view it in the same light as a guy taking a garden variety Chevelle and putting SS stripes and badging on it. Just strikes me as goofy.

Or the guys that buy Mustang GT's and put Cobra crap all over them. As a real Cobra owner, it kinda bothers me. I once had someone tell me mine wasn't a real Cobra...I just smiled and nodded and kept going. It wasn't worth my time to prove him wrong.

Pipe pictures are like porn to Chain.....it's understandable that he would be incensed if they are trifled with....

Re: What is wrong with this picture??

I think what is wrong in this pic is the rider actually wearing good gear while riding a susucky. Totally weird!

I think painting the can and putting some logos on it is pretty dumb, but as far as the Chevelle thing goes, doesn't bother me too much. Check out my dad's car . Since the Chevelle and the Malibu were in effect the same damn car it doesn't bother me as long as it is done right. For example, don't leave the inline 6 in the car and put SS emblems all over it. STUPID. Now, if you do like my old man and drop a 454 w/ SS396 badges, then you have something.

The Cobra thing is another story. Those cars had structural and asthetic (not only paint, but in body work as well) differences from the Mustangs. Again, if you are going to do it, go all the way. Don't just paint you mustang like a Cobra and put some emblems on it. Make it a GOOD replica.

Re: What is wrong with this picture??

I'm with HD on the musclecar clones.....I don't see a thing wrong with it if executed well. If the car is built with a performance edge similar to the original, then more power to them...it hurts no one...

IMHO hanging a race can on a street bike is the equivalent of painting SS stripes on in inline 6 Chevelle....
