Dyno Results Today 954: Thanks and any Feedback

Had the bike on a dyno today tuning with a custom map. It definitely is an improvement in all areas. Many thanks for all the great info and mods on this forum. I definitely liked the rev limiter mod. As noticed in the graph, the bike pulls hard all the way up to 12200+ rpms now, instead of 11700 which is cool. I was able to find a full titanium exhaust believed to be a Sato with a Scorpion blue flame can. The AF ratio seems high at 13.3 they said that was the bikes optimal ratio. Just wanted to send out thanks and see what others think of the graph and the tuning.

Re: Dyno Results Today 954: Thanks and any Feedback

I thought the standard rev limiter was at an indicated 12,200rpm (actually around 11,800rpm) already on the 929/924?
Bike tach's are optimistic.
The dyno tach should be accurate.
That's why dyno charts often stop short of the "claimed" rev limiter.

Nice graph. Very smooth.

Re: Dyno Results Today 954: Thanks and any Feedback

I was just looking into this. I believe from the factory it states 12.15 this dyno went higher to about 12.27 before it kicked in. I did the 12v jump on pin 17. I'm gonna leave it there now. Should've put a switch in. aw well. Give this mod a ?

Re: Dyno Results Today 954: Thanks and any Feedback

top numbers vary from dyno to dyno, weather, humidity, etc so never a straight comparison (in fact its only showing a couple more horses than my 929). The curves showing important improvements and looks good to me

Re: Dyno Results Today 954: Thanks and any Feedback

thanks, i'm happy with the improvements, my last run was 10 hp different with the hass eliminator and map, so +10 hp for this exhaust and -1 tooth on the front should make for plenty of FUN this season, most of my riding is on the street so I have no GOOD reason to be at peak anyway, most of the smoothing was spent in the mid range where I should be anyway Im just interested in seeing if the +500 rev limit mod worked I added a couple of pics to show, it pulled to 12,400 rmp before limiter kicked in, so that would put stock at 11,900, does that sound correct, It was a free mod so why not? Any facts about the rev limit? Does adding 12v to pin 17 seem to work? I should of tested it with a switch, just felt like having it as a permanant mod. The solid line going up the grid marks 12,230rpm it still gains beyond that as shown in the chart.

I would say it works.
My 929 hit the limiter right on 11,800 on the dyno.

Re: Dyno Results Today 954: Thanks and any Feedback

Sweet looking power curve just what I want for my 54, Can't wait for my custom tune this spring. Just gotta save up the $$. May hit the rev limiter mod with a switch in the meantime just because. What other mods you got besides the Haas? Would you be willing to post your map? I know its only right for your bike and some don't like to do it, but it might help me fix the bottom end on the map I'm currently running. If not no biggy but Thanks for posting your results. It lets me know what i can expect for my baby and it looks good.

Re: Dyno Results Today 954: Thanks and any Feedback

Honda4ever: just pm me later and I have a map you can try, just for clarification I got rid of the Hass and went to a full titanium (Sato) exhaust which gave me about 10 ponies across the chart as compared to the Hass, so I'm happy with that, did the velocity stacks from factory pro, a pricy mod, don't think it did much, +4 advance which made it a bit more responsive, I was told to keep 90 or better octane for that, -1 tooth in the front with 520 rk chain, vortex rear sprocket, pair and flapper removal, BMC filter and much reading on this forum for overall tweaks and maintenance

mine too. weird thing is my graph shows the first run hit the limiter at around 11,2000

if you can't convince them, confuse them.

Re: Dyno Results Today 954: Thanks and any Feedback

I did the same mod about a year ago, but I have just got the bike on a dyno last week to see how it was running. It was a power run only, didnt get mapped. Mods included the following, full akrapovic race system, bmc race filter, power commander, flapper removal and rev extend. The tuner said the chain was losing power, it has a few stiff links and needs changed, but the 954 made 142 rear wheel hp. It should make high 140's when mapped, fitted with new chain and sprockets, and a bit of head work, if im really lucky, it may make 150bhp. The rev extend has definetly worked, I dont have the old graph, but it was on the tuners computer, and he showed it was revving 400rpm higher, and showed the top speed had went from 180mph to 185.8mph, surprisingly, the new graph showed a pretty good curve without mapping !
