99 900rr exhaust

I've been putting my bike together recently and came across a small issue. I have a RS-3 exhaust system on the bike and I took the can off recently. After I was done cleaning it and inspecting it I noticed that bracket that holds the can to the rear passenger pegs is no good. More specifically the insulation between the bracket and the can. Not sure if I'm using the correct nomenclature or not, or if I'm even making any sense, but I do need to replace it Does anyone know a good solution for this? Trying to keep costs down of course. I'm not sure how heat resistant it needs to be, and if I need to just use some exhaust wrap or if there is something else that mike work. Thanks

Any chance of a photo?
I can't picture any insulation there.
Do you mean the rubber mount where the muffler hangs?

Sure, here is a picture of the bracket and the liner that goes in between the bracket and can. I'm just trying to figure out what I can replace that stripe of heat shielding with. If it needs to be something special or what options are available, or if I can just get a whole new bracket. Thanks

Dolan

edit: there is a picture in my gallery of the bike and how the exhaust is mounted, it's just the bracket that bolts to the passenger peg.

Re: 99 900rr exhaust

That isolation strip doesn't look unusable to me, even if it won't look as nice as a new one. All it is really doing is protecting the can from scratching, and by being compressible it allows the clip to stay tight. Any strip of rubber or neoprene would do that. Temperature will not be an issue.

Re: 99 900rr exhaust

Ok cool, I would use this one but it's too thin and doesn't allow for a compressed fit, and I don't want the can rattling around when I ride. Anyone where how I might be able to just get a new bracket?
