Loss of power at 7500 rpm

Hi guys!
Couldnt find anything on the forum that could help me with this problem

Basically when i rev my 954rr (nikko bolt-on stock air-filter PcIII) It is just fine until second gear when I reach 7500 rpm and It just wont rev any higher, if I let back on the throttle i little bit it can help it but its like an tuned moped where you need to pump the clutch to get it to rev. But the easy way to say is that it wont accelerate above 7500 on 2 and 3 gear ( havent tried 4). I cant understand whats going on. I talked to some Powercomander guys and they say its very unlikely that the pc3 is doing this, even if it has a "bad" map.
I have also tried whit a different map setting but no difference. havent tried zero map yet but I dont think it matters, allthough I will try tomorrow. Left at a workshop and they checked all sparkplugs and I have changed the battery. They could not find anything wrong but they also admitted that they didnt have the guts to rev that much when they tested it.
Any Ideas would help because I am lost

Thank You and Safe Diving!!

Markus

Completely disconnect the PCIII to see if that's causing the problem...

Does it do the same in first? Try fourth too.

Report back when tested.

No it does not behave strange in 1st gear. Thatīs odd to me....

I will first try a zero map on the pc3 then disconnect it and then try 4th gear.

thanx for your input!

I will be back!!

Wouldn't a "Zero" map be just like dis-connecting the PC3?

Yes. It would be the same. But could a "faulty" pc3 still cause problems when itīs plugged in but "zeroed"?

Of course. Faulty means there's an electrical problem somewhere.

The backing off bit _might_ indicate a mixture condition but I doubt it's that if first gear revs out cleanly.
I assume that at some point the bike was running fine?
What has happened or been done to the bike just prior to this problem?
As already stated, the obvious first step is to isolate the PC as they're a known failure.
The 7500rpm may be significant as the HTEV may be functioning improperly or the airbox flap may not be opening but that wouldn't explain why first gear is fine.

It has been 100% fine before. The only thing I can think of is that I was on a trackday and had a mild(loss of fairings and pride) crash, but I donīt recall it getting bad directly after that.
Iīm thinking a little bit of the mixture problem thatīs why I have tried som injection cleaner, not very hopefull though...

Re: Loss of power at 7500 rpm

Check the flapper in the airbox, with the top off and filter out when the revs hit 7k the flap should be fully down.
